Alastair Steel, ran a Civil and Structural Engineering consultancy prior to working with Iesis and has managed the merger of three large engineering organisations within the MoD, including all business processes and IT.
Having served in nuclear and conventional submarines, and trained others in the use of tactical information and weapon systems, Alastair ran the Weapon Systems Engineering department during the build of the first submarine to be constructed on the Mersey for 21 years. Alastair oversees risk management for the business, bringing his years of critical project analysis to the property development environment.
Tom joins the Structures division as Director for Bristol and the South West, having spent 16 years with an established Bristol practice, where he was an Associate Director.
He has been responsible for the design of both structural & civil engineering projects with values ranging from a £195m education project, to smaller scale refurbishment and extension works for retail and residential properties.
He is a Chartered Structural & Chartered Civil Engineer with a proven track record in engineering across a wide range of sectors, including residential, education, industrial, commercial, retail, civic, health and renewables
As a director of STRUCTURES Alan Werrett has led projects ranging from £80m mixed-use developments to small-scale residential schemes and has a wealth of knowledge in both new build and refurbishment projects. His technical expertise has been key to successfully delivering a wide range of structures from military facilities through to large residential developments and the restoration of listed buildings.
Apart from a good general engineering background, Alan has specific academic and industrial experience in the design of structures subject to the forces of fluid motion and is familiar with computational and physical model studies of dynamic structural behaviour and harmonic motion.
Alan studied Civil Engineering at Oxford Brookes University and Aeronautics and Fluid Structure Interaction at Imperial College before becoming a Chartered Structural Engineer in 2010.
Caroline Brown has a Masters in Journalism (Honours) and began her career in television distribution and production. Working as a production manager for the Discovery Channel Canada, she also set up her own production company and has produced and directed a number of projects, including one-off documentary style specials.

Chris Goodenough is Managing Director and has over 25 years of experience designing and refurbishing commercial office and residential properties, including working with clients such as Reckett Benkiser PLC, Cobham PLC, Bioquell PlC and Honeywell PLC.
Ryan Jones was appointed Director after significantly contributing to the internal management of the team and managing consistently excellent outcomes for clients. Ryan has a wealth of commercial knowledge and will add to both corporate governance and project external control.
Tony Ruck is a Director of Iesis Structures and has a wealth of experience in the design of new build and refurbished structures in a broad range of materials. He has worked in most sectors but has particular expertise in urban residential projects and has many years of experience in large multiphase residential developments within London.
Tony has a proven track record in producing efficient, lean designs for complex urban sites adding value to the project from initial scheming through to construction sequencing and methodology. Hehas led projects including complex refurbishment of listed buildings, multi-storey basement construction and large residential developments up to 32 storeys in height and varying in size from bespoke individual houses to £150 million multi-storey, multi-use developments.
